Co-curricular activities

Barasat Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School is a higher secondary boys’ school in the town of Barasat, North 24 Parganas. We encourage our student to participate in veracious Social, Cultural, Sport activities.

Our students has already proved their activities.

  • 2000 – Won the inter-school championship.
  • 2010– A student secured 3rd place in the Science Talent Search Examination.
  • Won the All Bengal Quiz competition.
  • 2015– Stood 1st at West Bengal State Student Youth Science Fair 2015 (District level champion).
  • In International Mathematics Olympiad students got 07 gold medals, 07 silver medals and 06 bronze medals in the school level; six students competed in the 2nd level.
    Student Swarnav Das secured gold medals in both the International Mathematics Olympiad and the National Science Olympiad. Eleven students students were selected
    for the Inspire Science Camp organised by the Jagadish Chandra Basu National Science Talent Search authority.
  • Seventy-four students participated in the National Merit-cum-Means Scholarship and National Talent Search Examinations organised by the School Education Department.
    A number of them succeeded in both the Examinations.
  • Three students participated in the Children’s Science Congress.
  • A number of students participated in Govt. athletic meet and succeeded in Sub-Division and District levels.
  • Students became champion in individual and team events in the inter-school meet organised at Auxiliam Convent School, Barasat.
  • In different sports events many students of this school shone in the past and some are still shining.
    For example, Bengal Ranji player and India probable Sudip Chatterjee is one of them.
  • Shayon Kumar Biswas of Indian Idol fame is a student of Class VII of this school.
